Catching Hope

Looking for the grace of God that surrounds us

April Showers (or, rather, July showers…)

on July 14, 2009

I love rainy weather.  A large part of this has to do with the rainy nights in Tennessee when I would fall asleep to the sound of a rain shower while feeling the cool breezes that came with the rainclouds.  There’s always been a very calm, soothing feeling that comes to me with the rain.

This week especially we can rejoice in the rain–my grass has been quickly turning yellow and my poor little garden has been quite thirsty.  Not to mention those who depend on the blessing of rain in order to make a living!  All in all, between the soothing sound, the lovely, pearly grey clouds, and the many physical blessings that come with it, I am thankful for the rain today.

Acts 14:17 Yet he did not leave himself without witness, for he did good by giving you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.

Psalms 147:7-8 Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving, make melody to our God on the lyre! He covers the heavens with clouds, he prepares rain for the earth; he makes grass grow on the hills.
